Cook (16+ hrs per week)

Location: Downtown St. Pete

​

We are looking for highly-motivated individual interested in creating and executing wholesome, vibrant dishes in a fast paced, collaborative kitchen. 

​

     THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

is a passionate, career-focused cook with previous professional kitchen experience,

enjoys exploring playful flavor combinations,

is confident with executing the culinary menu independently,

can collaborate on creating plant-centric seasonal menu offerings,

is excited about creating delicious, edible art ! 

​

       SCHEDULE: 

We are hiring for a part-time, weekday schedule: 

​

Wednesday     1:00 pm - 4:00 pm 

Thursday        11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Friday             7:30 am - 4:00 pm

​

     COMPENSATION:

Starting at $14/hr + tip pool (average $7/hr)

​

     BENEFITS:

  • Health Insurance including Dental & Vision for Full Time Employees 

  • 1 week PTO (starts accruing after 3 months) + 3 sick days annually

  • Free Admission to the Museum of Fine Arts

​

     RESPONSIBILITIES include*:​

  • Takes daily inventory and ensures the line is adequately stocked with menu components, replenishing as needed each morning including poaching large batches of eggs. 

  • Cooks and assembles food items to order, including use of the flat top, gas stove and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.   

  • Maintains cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage

  • Inspects finished product to ensure that established standards on quality, consistency and aesthetic appeal are met

  • All staff assist on daily dishwashing and kitchen clean up

​

     REQUIREMENTS include*:

  • High School Diploma, GED or higher education

  • Food Safety Manager certification preferred​

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Multitasking and time-management skills - this position works mainly independently 

  • Strong commitment to highest product quality

  • Ability to lift heavy items, at least 50 lbs on a daily basis

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Stamina: ability to stand for 10 hours at a time
