RESPONSIBILITIES:​
-
Models excellent hospitality and fosters a welcoming, inclusive environment

Maintains deep understanding of menu, ingredients, sourcing, and preparation methods

Serves as the point person for escalated customer concerns and ensure issues are resolved with care and professionalism​
-
Inputs products/items into POS (Square)
-
In a secondary role, manages inventory alongside Kitchen Manager (Chef) including receiving deliveries, unpacking, replenishing stock from upstairs
-
Supports FOH team in preparing all drinks and drink components components including syrups, cloud foams, garnishes
-
Leads Product Fulfillment including delivering product to the customer (pastry, beverage, culinary quality control); Supports with wholesale, special order and cake pick ups; and Leads pick ups during the Holidays
-
Tracks daily sales and assists in controlling product waste by utilizing the EOD log​
-
Prints all FOH materials including Pastry Labels, Menus, Seasonal Flyers
-
​Leads Café Opening and Closing procedures including counter breakdown when catering events happen in the Conservatory
-
Stays Up-to-date on scheduled events at the MFA via shared calendar
-
Trains New Hires in all FOH positions including counter, barista and food running
-
Maintains a clean and tidy dining room, pastry counter and beverage station through regular cleaning procedures with FOH team

Front of House Lead (40 hrs per week)

As FOH Lead, you’ll be the heartbeat of our customer experience, setting the tone for hospitality while supporting day-to-day operations. You’ll handle everything from guest interactions and quality control to inventory coordination and training new team members. You'll collaborate closely with leadership team to ensure the smooth flow of service daily.

COMPENSATION:
starting $16.50/hr + tip pool (average $7/hr)

REQUIREMENTS:
-
2+ years of experience in operations, hospitality, food service, or a related field
-
Proven ability to bring fresh ideas, creative problem-solving, and innovative approaches to operational challenges
-
Positive and collaborative attitude, with a focus on contributing to a supportive and solution-oriented team culture

Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with colleagues across all levels
-
Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to embrace change and help drive continuous improvement
-
Proficiency with an espresso machine

Proficiency with POS (Square)
-
Must have access to a laptop during working hours
-
Consistent Full Weekend Availability ​

Ability to lift heavy items, at least 50 lbs on a daily basis
-
Stamina: ability to stand for 10 hours at a time
-
Full availability during major Holidays (months of November - December, Easter & Mother's Day)
