Pastry Cook / Morning Baker
(16 - 24 hrs/wk)
Location: Downtown St. Pete
​
This role is expected to assist with the morning bake for the day and complete a daily list of tasks to prep for the following day(s).
This position may float between the pastry and bread teams.
​
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
is a passionate, career-focused baker with at least 1 year of previous bakery experience (must be comfortable and familiar in a commercial kitchen setting), however we are willing to train the right candidate who is highly motivated, self-taught and eager to learn
​
must be able to follow and complete detailed recipe instructions independently, at a reasonably quick pace and is willing to assist where needed throughout the kitchen
​
must be proficient in preparing pastry creams, curds, meringue, buttercreams, cake batters, cookie doughs and pie doughs ​
COMPENSATION:
Starting at $14/hr + tip pool (average $7/hr)
based on experience

REQUIREMENTS*:

High School Diploma, GED or higher education
-
Food Handler's License preferred

Strong commitment to highest product quality

Ability to lift heavy items, at least 50 lbs on a daily basis

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Stamina: ability to stand for 10 hours at a time

All staff assists on dishwashing and kitchen clean up

Reliable form of transportation to and from downtown St. Pete
